Mihaela Badea is the Head of the Teacher Training Department of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, where she lectures on Romanian Language Teaching, English Language Teaching and Pedagogy. She also teaches Methods of Language Education Activities and the Methodology of Romanian Language and Literature for Young Children to BA students enrolled in the Pedagogy of Primary and Pre-School Education program. She holds a Ph.D. in Education Sciences from the University of Bucharest (2011). She is involved in national and international research projects, her research concerns being materialised in various studies published in Romania and abroad.

Gabriel Dan Bărbuleț was born in 1974 in Blaj, a town located in Alba County, Romania. Demonstrating an early passion for languages and literature, he pursued his higher education at the prestigious Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Here, he majored in English language and literature and minored in Romanian language and literature. His academic journey did not stop at his undergraduate studies; he earned a Ph.D. in philology from the same university. His doctoral dissertation, titled Movie Talk: A Study of Slang in Prison Movies, reflects his unique interest in the intersection of language, culture, and media.

Currently, Gabriel Dan Bărbuleț serves as an Associate Professor at 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia in Romania. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he holds the significant administrative role of Dean of the Faculty of History, Letters, and Educational Sciences. His scholarly interests are broad and diverse, encompassing Pragmatics, Semantics, English Syntax, English Methodology, and British and American Culture and Civilisation. His wide-ranging expertise is reflected in his numerous publications in national and international journals and his active participation in various conferences.

Gabriel Dan Bărbuleț is also a key member of several editorial boards for peer-reviewed journals. His contributions include work with international and domestic publications such as The Journal of Linguistic and Intercultural Education - JoLIE, Annales Universitatis Apulensis, Incursiuni n Imaginar, Buletinul studenților și masteranzilor filologi, and Current and Future Perspectives on Teaching and Learning. These roles underscore his commitment to advancing scholarly communication and his dedication to fostering academic discourse across various linguistic and cultural fields.

Alexandra Bja is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Linguistics and Literary Studies, Babeș-Bolyai University and a teaching assistant, Faculty of Letters and Faculty of Economics, Babeș-Bolyai University. She is currently conducting research on language acquisition and bilingualism. Other interests include phonology, comparative linguistics, landscape linguistics, second language education and translation studies.

Roberto Luis Carr is an Assistant Professor and Teacher Trainer at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences, University of Ciego de vila, Cuba, and currently a PhD student in Philology Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Letters, Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. His research focuses on language acquisition, vocabulary learning, and the application of gamification in language teaching, with particular interest in specialised vocabulary learning and the use of game-based learning (GBL) and gamification in resource-limited educational contexts.

Anda-Lucia Ciltan holds a PhD in English Linguistics under an international joint supervision between Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Bucharest. Her PhD research looks into the semantics and pragmatics of deontic modality; more precisely, it is a contrastive study which focuses on commissive strategies in English, Spanish and Romanian. Consequently, her research field comprises pragmatics and intercultural linguistics, but also language attitudes, SLA (second language acquisition) and FLT (foreign language teaching).

She is currently working as an Assistant Lecturer at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is also a researcher within the project Stance strategies in immigration and racism-related discourse: analysis and applications in affective learning practices and Anlisis de la distintas distribuciones que ofrece Moodle para el Campus Virtual mediante eye- tracking (II). She has published three books and various articles in national and international journals and editorials, among which Peter Lang, Dykinson and Bucharest University Press.

 

 

Victor-Emanuel CIUCIUC

Victor-Emanuel Ciuciuc holds a PhD in Philology from the University of Bucharest and is currently completing a second PhD in Hispanic Studies at the Autonomous University of Madrid. His research examines intercultural pragmatics and verbal irony in language teaching and acquisition contexts. This has led him to specialize in areas such as pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and cognitive linguistics, focusing on language attitudes, foreign language teaching (FLT), and second language acquisition (SLA).

He currently serves as a teaching assistant at the University of Bucharest, conducting Romanian and Spanish courses for undergraduate students and international learners. Additionally, he is a DELE examiner for the Cervantes Institute and has published two monographs and numerous articles in national and international journals, including Peter Lang, Dykinson, and Universitaria Publishing House.

Cristina Iridon is Head of the Philology Department within the Faculty of Letters and Sciences of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, where she lectures on Romanian Language Teaching for the foreign students and on History of the Romanian Language, Latin Language and Comparative Literature to BA students enrolled in the Philological Specialisations. She holds a Ph.D. in Philology from the University of Bucharest (2002). Maria Natlia Prez Santos has a PhD in Linguistics from the University of vora (U); a Master degree in Didactics for teachers of Spanish language and culture from the University of La Rioja; a Degree in Translation from the School of Management and Technology of Leiria.  She is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic of Leiria in foreign languages for Tourism and Hospitality. She is an effective member of the Centre for Research, Development, and Innovation in Tourism (CITUR) and a collaborating member of the Centre for the Studies in Letters (CEL) of the University of Trs-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD).

Andra-Iulia Ursa is a Senior Lecturer at 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia. Her research and publications address translation studies, as well as semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic strategies in the field of literary translation, untranslatability, and world literature. Her professional experience encompasses teaching a number of subjects, including Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting, English Syntax, Technical Translations, English for Law Students, English for Kinesiotherapy Students, and English for Business Administration. She is a certified translator of English and French and has over a decade of experience working in the translation of legal and technical documents.
