Open Access Policy (Online Edition)
The Journal of Linguistic and Intercultural Education (JoLIE) is primarily a print-based journal, published under a print ISSN. In addition, the journal maintains an online edition under a separate ISSN. Access conditions for individual articles are indicated on the journal website.
JoLIE is gradually expanding the availability of content through its online edition, subject to available institutional and editorial resources.
Open-access articles
Only articles that are explicitly designated as open access on the journal website are considered open-access publications. These articles are freely available for full-text access and download in PDF format from the journal website.
Such articles are published in the online edition under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under this licence, users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, and adapt the material for non-commercial purposes, provided that:
-
appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the journal,
-
a link to the licence is provided, and
-
any changes made are clearly indicated.
Articles that are not explicitly marked as open access remain subject to standard copyright restrictions.
Open access and institutional support
Open access is currently provided on an article-by-article basis, subject to available institutional support and resources. Individual articles may be made openly accessible where publication costs are supported by 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia, affiliated research projects, or other institutional sources.
The availability of institutional support for open access does not influence editorial decisions, which are based exclusively on the journal"s editorial and peer-review criteria.
Relationship to the print edition
The Creative Commons license applies only to the online version of articles that are designated as open access.
It does not affect the copyright status of the print edition.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
JoLIE does not currently charge any article processing charges (APCs) for submission, peer review, or publication, including for articles made available open access online.
Should APCs be introduced in the future for optional open-access publication of individual articles, full details of the applicable fees and conditions will be clearly announced on the journal website prior to implementation.
